What started as a heartwarming story quickly took a dark turn. First, a man rescues lost dog know by the community as Martha May. After not receiving a cash reward for saving her, he proceeded to kidnap Martha May from her owners the next day.
The alleged hero-turned-villain left a note on the victims’ doorstep that read “Y’all are greedy as fuck. Martha liked me better anyways”.
Martha’s owners are now offering a 500 dollar reward for her safe return home, but according to police, it might be a case of too little too late.
“The note left by the kidnapper suggests he may have formed some sort of bond with the dog,” says Officer Samuelson, lead investigator on the case. “It’s possible that he’s no longer interested in the money. He might just be happy with the dog now.”
Nonetheless, authorities are doing all they can to insure Martha May’s safe return. Neighbors have been informed to keep an eye out, and her owners are sharing some helpful tips on how to identify their lost dog.
“Martha May loves Pitch Perfect. Especially the riff off songs,” they tell us. “If you think you see her, start playing one of those and she’ll come running right towards you.”
What could have been a touching “man rescues lost dog” story of human kindness developed into a never-ending nightmare for this poor family. We can only hope that the power of love, goodness, and the Barden Bellas’ rendition of “S&M” will bring Martha May back home.
